The Mission of the Virginia Music Educators Association is to provide leadership and professional development to ensure quality music education. The Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide mutual helpfulness to its membership and to promote the advancement of music education through schools and other educational institutions. VMEA is an affiliated state unit of the Music Educators National Conference: The National Association for Music Education. The completed current IRS 990 Form and Financial Assets Report are available for review. Contact Moe Turrentine, State Manager at the VMEA Corporate Office for this information.

College Credit Workshops
Old Dominion University will offer a course for 1 hour of graduate credit for attending the VMEA In-Service Conference at the Marriott Waterside, Norfolk, this November. For more information about this course please go to the ODU website or contact Dr. Alfred Townsend atownsen@odu.edu or Dr. Nancy Klein nklein@odu.edu.
Shenandoah University will offer undergraduate and graduate academic credit in conjunction with the Virginia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. Up to three credits-offered concurrently in three individual courses of one credit each-may be earned at the undergraduate or graduate level. This credit may be used for certificate/licensure renewal or applied to degree programs. Shenandoah University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, Shenandoah Conservatory is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
