Membership Awards
 
The purpose of these awards is to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of our members and those people who have a positive impact on our profession. Awards are presented at conference each year. If you feel you may qualify, click [HERE] to submit online awards application.
 
Service Awards
The Virginia Music Educators Association has established an awards program to recognize service and excellence in music teaching in both public and private schools in the Commonwealth.  Service Awards are presented at the In-Service Conference each November.
 
Fifteen Year Certificate
Currently an active member of VMEA
A music teacher in a public or private school for at least fifteen years
A VMEA member (or its equivalent in another state) for at least ten years
 
Twenty-Five Year Pin
Currently an active member of VMEA
A music teacher in a public or private school for at least twenty-five years
A VMEA member (or its equivalent in another state) for at least ten years
 
Retirement Plaque
Retired in the past five years
An active member of VMEA at the time you retired
Taught music in a public or private school for at least twenty-five years
A VMEA member (or its equivalent in another state) for at least ten years

 

 
 
Outstanding Music Educator
 
There is no official form to file. Collect information which meets the criteria and send to :

Criteria: At least 10 years of continuous teaching in Virginia.
  Must currently teach in Virginia
  Consistent VMEA member in good standing
  Evidence of service to VMEA or interest sections
 
Outstanding accomplishments as a teacher as evidenced by:
Student achievement, professional recognition, program recognition, awards,
sustained program growth, testimony from students, parents, and administrators.
