Urgent Call to Action – Graduation Requirements and SOAs

The Virginia Board of Education (BOE) is in the final stages of the Standards of Accreditation and graduation requirement revisions.

The Board will receive input through Oct. 5th on requirements before making their final recommendation.  Our membership has made some positive connections during the face-to-face public input sessions. Continuing this conversation through the comment period will help us reinforce our message.

Your voice and opinion matter—we have seen this in our conversations with the BOE thus far.  A firm groundwork has been laid, so consider taking a moment to contact the Board to share your input, thoughts and concerns in the final stages of this process.  I recommend that your intro be brief (3-4 sentences) with the highlights from the position statement.  Please also attach the position statement for further review for the Board.
