VMEA Conference Playoff Policy

  • Band directors who may have a playoff game during conference must pre-register for the conference and then request a refund of the conference pre-registration fee in the event of a playoff game.  All band directors who register at conference will pay the on-site registration fee and will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Band directors it is to your advantage to go ahead and pre-register for conference and then should you have a playoff game during that weekend request a refund. Refunds should be requested through the State Manager.
  • Requests for refunds must be made prior to December 1st.

Call for Performers and Clinicians

The Virginia Music Educators Association welcomes submissions for our 2022 Annual Professional Development Conference to be held November 17-19 in Richmond, Virginia.

Workshops are 60 minutes in length and are interactive, hands-on experiential sessions. The Stacatto Sessions are 25 minutes in length with the clinician serving as facilitator of a focused best practice group question/answer discussion.

Our 43rd Annual Professional Development Conference brings together music educators, music researchers, industry professionals and performing ensembles to reflect on and honor varied means of music making across the Commonwealth while boldly embracing a future that provides a diverse experience for all music learners.

Performance Application

VMEA performance information and application will be posted on March 1, 2022.

The submission deadline for applications is April 22, 2022.

Clinic Proposal

Form Submissions can be submitted February 1.

The submission deadline for proposals is MAY 1, 2022.

Clinicians will be notified of the status of their proposal by July 15, 2022.
